The Eastern lands are just that: The Eastern kingdoms of Hyranden. Far from the west, these ancient kingdoms are much different than their younger cousins. In the south is the great desert of Orimaan Zadriin, and its kingdoms of full of sashes and sabers, temples and foreign gods. To the east lay the secluded islands of the militant Shojimi with their fortified towns in mountain valleys. To the west lay the barrier and the scorched lands, a grueling ride of months along dangerous paths to the younger western kingdoms. Yet all look to the north, for there the shadow has always grown and the Shadowkin rouse the dark things in the hills to act of savage ferocity. Every year the lands grow darker, and the shadows longer. That is when the Morankaar come forth into day to plague the world of men. However, amid the Vaes Karolingiaa, the Karoligian lords rule with their mighty hands and stout hearts. From their mountain vales do they sally forth to war, finally united under a single banner after hundreds of years of infighting. Though the shadow grows, none know where the marcher lords will strike next. A boy King is said to rule them with an iron fist, and who knows what stirs in his heart...
