Welcome to Elturel, a sprawling metropolis filled with holy scions! This massive detailed map was published as a poster map for WotC’s Descent into Avernus campaign.

Situated on a rising, defensible hill that falls away in a rocky cliff on its south side where the Chionthar flows, the city of Elturel rests atop a cliff that dominates the River Chionthar. Elturel was the farming center of the Fields of the Dead and thrived on the trade the passed through its domain. Elturel is the capital of Elturgard and ruled by the High Observer of Torm.

The city’s most distinguishing feature is a brilliant magical light that hovers above it, known as Amaunator’s Gift; although it was unknown if this was truly a blessing of Amaunator. The orb produces light that is painful to undead, and could be seen from virtually anywhere within Elturgard.

A betrayal of the greatest kind has seen the city was dragged down into the ninth layer of hell:Avernus and it floats high above the river Styx, pinned by massive chains. Can you save this city of paladins, or will it fall into madness and decay?

This digital download includes both the Labelled and Unlabelled versions of the City of Elturel map! Bring them into your VTT game as needed, or print at poster size! Either way serves as an excellent in game handout for your players. Its also a great reference piece since you can overlay a grid or Hex to track your party’s progress!
